Protecting health care and community services. The QPS does not provide a health waiver for immigration purposes.
Prove you have the appropriate level of English proficiency to be a QPS police officer, especially in terms of communicating in stressful operational situations. The proof is either:
You achieve the required score for
Proficient English; or
You are a citizen of and hold a valid passport issued by the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland, with your application. British National (Overseas) passports are not acceptable as evidence. Note: In terms of using your passport as proof, if during the selection process concerns are raised in relation to your English proficiency, you may be required to undertake and achieve the score for
Proficient English.
Note: This is in accordance with the Labour Agreement and the ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of a QPS police officer, which includes effectively communicating with diverse and challenging people in stressful and high-risk situations.
Note: In accordance with the Labour Agreement, applicants are required to have a minimum of 3 years full-time work experience in policing. This equates to a minimum of 5,220 hours of policing experience through either full-time, part-time, and/or casual work. Academy training will be recognised, however is limited to a maximum of 12 months. You must be able to provide evidence of your policing experience upon request.
